Registration for Orientation on Saturday, January 23rd will be open soon.
The Hui Aloha 'O Puna Makai (Hui Aloha) has entered into a partnership with the Nanawale Community Association and Malama O Puna to encourage and support participating residents to start backyard gardens. A backyard garden is a healthy activity and source of creativity as well as food. Through the "Nanawale Backyard Gardens Project" we envision food growing in people's yards, strengthened relationships within the Nanawale Community and a growing trend of food security.
Participants of the program will first complete a program orientation. Once the orientation is completed, a schedule of Saturdays will be designed to work on backyard gardening projects in the Nanawale Community by its residents.
