The Nanawale Longhouse is the site used to distribute weekly food to the community.
Every week the People of Puna are able to reserve a bag filled with local ingredients to make and cook two different entrees for their families.
This program is made possible by Our County Council District 4 Representative, Ashley Kierkiewicz.

Kanaka Ha'aheo Food Pantry
January 2020 has been the last time the Nanawale Longhouse has seen the light of volunteers coming together to distribute food pantry items to the community.
Fortunately, in July 2020, a new group of volunteers called "Kanaka Ha'aheo" contacted the Nanawale Longhouse to begin a food pantry distribution.
The group Bodacious Ladies of Pahoa is no longer doing food pantry in Nanawale.
The Nanawale Community Association is fortunate to work with many businesses, organizations, non-profit groups and local schools in our area to bring outreach or family programs here to our Community of Nanawale.
The following affliliates use the longhouse facility to serve our community. These community afiliates or organizations facilitate these programs while using out facility.
If you have questions regarding these programs, please contact the facilitating organization.
